BLACKJACK CARD COUNTING

Blackjack Card Counting
Although blackjack card counting is non-existent with online casinos, the concept of card counting is one that's been around for decades. The first card-counting system was developed in the 1950's and became well-known amongst the gambling elite when a mathematics professor by the name of Dr. Edward O. Thorp wrote the book titled "Beat the Dealer". His book detailed a system that would allow intelligent and well-practiced blackjack players to count cards and keep track of the balance between the low and highs in a card deck, greatly increasing their edge in winning.

How it's done
Often people have the misconception that blackjack card counting entails memorizing all the cards in a hand. This would be a monumental feat for anyone and is not how the system works. Often card counters don't know what the next will be but rather have an educated guess of the probability of the cards that will come up next. Card counting works on the premise of adding and subtracting the number 1. When a high card hits the table a player subtracts 1 and when a low card hits the table a player adds 1. The larger the count the higher the number of high cards in the deck.
