BLACKJACK RULES

BlackJack Rules
Dubbed America's favorite table game, Blackjack tables can be found in just about every casino on the web and around the world. The premise of blackjack's rules are easy to grasp and easy to understand, which is one of the reasons why it's grown in popularity over the years. Blackjack is a game that's easily accessible for novices yet advanced enough for professionals. All you really need to understand Blackjack is to be able to count to twenty-one.

Rules for Twenty-One
The first rule a blackjack player needs to know if that he wants his current hand value to be better than that of the dealer without going over twenty-one. The great thing about blackjack is the dealer has no control over the game other than to deal the cards. In accordance with the rules of blackjack, the player is the one making all the decisions. Cards are usually dealt face-up, which allows you to make educated guesses on your next course of action.

Blackjack Card values
The following list details the card values in the game of Blackjack.

Ace - Valued as either 1 or 11
2 through 10 - equivalent to their face values
Jack - Valued as 10
Queen - Valued as 10
King - Valued as 10

Card suits are irrelevant in blackjack and can be ignored. The value of the current hand is calculated by adding all the cards that have been dealt to you. You're goal is to try to be as closer to 21 than the dealer. If the dealer goes over he goes "bust" and you win. If you go over the dealer automatically wins without needing to draw another card. If you have the same total as the dealer it's called a "push" and neither side wins (though this may vary depending on the casino you play at).

The rules of the Blackjack dealer
All casinos have specific rules that govern when a dealer must hit or stand. The most popular rules requires that the house (the dealer) always stands at 17 or higher, meaning the dealer must keep drawing until their hand totals at least 17. Note that this will vary depending on each Casino, so please be sure to check out the house rules before playing.
